| Lot #2306 1931 Pigeon Mail 1931 trial pigeon flight from Shirokiya Department Store, Tokyo to the Army Communications unit, Nakano, Tokyo, at the Army Manchuria and Mongolia exhibition. The official lettersheet has two commemorative cancels, one for the pigeon flight, the other for exhibition. The letter and envelope also show the blue cds "Army Communications Unit 6.12.11" (11 Dec. 1931). The experiment was a success, with all pigeons returning to base, fine and rare item  | Unsold |
