A sizeable aeronautic unit was deployed, partly to protect the Headquarters in Mogilov from the feared German airplane or Zeppelin raids (Nicholas II correspondence with Alexandra contains multiple references to his generals not allowing him to travel to the front lines for fear of a Zeppelin raid)

Possibly the earliest aviation-related postal history item from the Caucasus on record
