"Ariona" anchored at the fortified port of Alexandrovskoe de Castri (opposite Sakhalin Island, 1350km north of Vladivostok). The card showstwo types of cancellers in use at the port. During the period of conflicting Russian and Japanese interests in Korea, Germany gave diplomatic support to Russia, backed by a naval presence. A very rare card
