1926 cover to Australia, one of the very few carried by Cobham to Melbourne. It was posted there at the Ship Mail Room on 16.8.1926. Having reached Perth after the addressee left for England, it followed him there by ordinary mail. Cobhamflew in a DH50 with his mechanic A.B.Elliott until the latter was killed by a stray bullet near Basra. This was the flight for which Cobham was knighted. The aircraft was rebuilt and left Darwin on 12 Dec. 1932, crashed again in Soerabaja, rebuilt and left 10 April, 1933 for Berlin, fine and rare
