 | Lot #2126 United States 1914-17 Issues 1916 5c carmine, Single Error in block of nine, top three stamps l.h., error and rest of the stamps n.h., v.f., with 2007 PSE certificate. A rare imperforate 5c error (during production of the 2c stamp from plate 7492, three positions were judged to be defective and sent for replacement. The siderographer mistakenly re-entered the corrected positions using a transfer roll for the 5c stamp. The error was undetected and the sheets, perf. 10, perf. 11 and imperforate (Scott 467, 505 and 485) were sent to the post offices.
