1861 3c green, Lowenberg Decalcomania, Plate Essay on Onionskin, se-tenant with French stamp design, vertical pair plus half of another pair of the U.S. essay at bottom with a block of four of the 1c green French stamp at top, fine and outstanding condition for this fragile paper, v.f. (According to an article in the Essay-Proof Journal, Lowenberg was also trying to secure a contract to sell his process to the French government, and this may have been integral to his attempt)
