POLAND Polish Prisoners of War in the Soviet Union
1939 (23 Oct) Russian 20k stationery card (two additional stamps removed), sent from Starobielsk Prisoner of War Camp by General Aleksander Kowalewski, return address "NKVD Camp Starobielsk" and sent to Warszawa, filing fold and archival punched holes at left, rare early POW card (General Kowalewski surrendered to the Soviet Army on 19th September, 1939 and after a short detention in Starobielsk, was transferred to Kharkov and murdered by the NKVD)
