1793 (18 Jan) letter (four-page folio) headed "Aujourd'hui dix huit de Janvier, Mille sept cent quatre vingt treize, l'an 2 de la Republique Francaise a huit heures, administration du 2 Battalion Corse au Garrison de Bonifacio", signed twice by Buonaparte on pages two and three (At that time, Napoleon was a fervent Corsican nationalist and spent the early years of the Revolution in Corsica, fighting in a complex three-way struggle among royalists, revolutionaries, and Corsican nationalists.
