Lot #690
GERMANY Zeppelin Flights
1929 Orient Flight, picture postcard (LZ 127), written by a passenger Richard Kunze and addressed to himself in Friedrichshafen, franked with 1M Eagle, with a personalized message ("in souvenir of my Mediterranean flight with LZ 127"), bold "T" (applied in Palestine) crossed out with blue crayon, appropriate cachet, with Friedrichshafen arrival pmk. The Reich Ministry of Posts announcement of 22 March stated that all mail sent to Friedrichshafen post office was to be dropped at Er Ramle, Palestine. No provision was made for collectors to send mail for the round trip (Friedrichshafen and back), hence this card is considerably scarce
