| Lot #758 BRITISH COMMONWEALTH INDIA Flight Covers 1927 (18 Dec) "Red Rose" flight from Calcutta to Rangoon, fine, with corresponding label, only 52 carried. Bill Lancaster was an ex-RAF pilot who decided to make a name for himself by flying from England to Australia, in the Avro Avian Red Rose, accompanied by an Australian, a Mrs. Jessie "Chubbie" Miller, who financed the flight, which at the time was one of the longest made in such a small aircraft (also the first England-Australia flight by a woman)
