1851-57 3p blue, two horizontal pairs (slightly overlapping), full to large margins all around, tied by oval grid cancels on FL sent to Halifax, paying the double weight plus registration rate, with "Registered" manuscript at left and Halifax (June 26 1856) arrival, with Kernville (June 25) departure on reverse, v.f. and rare, one of only three known covers with the two pair franking, this being the earliest recorded, ex-Mayer and Wilkinson collections, photographed in the Canadian Philatelic (Volume 56, No.4, page 211)

1851-57 3p dark blue, vertical pair, clear to large margins all around, tied by oval grid cancels and faint blue cds on FL addressed to Captain Norman McNeil in New York, where it was redirected to Santo Domingo, red "Paid" handstamp and endorsed "Brig Arthur Leary" (steamship), with Halifax (November 29, 1851) departure and St. John's transit on reverse, top stamp with facial scuff and some light cover soiling, otherwise fine and interesting steamship usage, this also being the only cover recorded to the Dominican Republic, ex-Chaplin and Wilkinson collections
