LARGE LOTS & COLLECTIONS INDIA - NATIVE FEUDATORY STATES
1866-1894 Jammu & Kashmir, reference collection assembled by C.H. Mortimer, two volumes on pages and additional stock book, 2,500+ items, including used and unused "private forgeries", reprints, forgeries to defraud the revenue (postal forgeries), forgeries for collectors, "Brighton forgeries", including native laid paper and watercolors, covers, blocks of four and larger, including sheets (all counted as single items). Many of the forgeries were produced shortly after the original stamps were issued, some are impossible to distinguish from the originals, hence many question marks are noted throughout. There are also officials reprints (1886-1888), with officials and proofs, as well as "modern" forgeries produced prior to 1894 and sold to the public at the Kashmir State Post Offices. The collection is well annotated, with references to Masson, Col. Edward Evans, Sefi collections and others. A remarkable collection
