 | Lot #2145 RUSSIA - ZEMSTVO TIKHVIN 1888 (10 Dec) combination cover (opened for display) from a village in Borovichi district to Dregli pogost (literally church yard or village) in Tikhvin district, franked on front with Borovichi 3k adhesive (Chuchin, Schmidt 8), tied by faint violet "Borovichiskaya Zemskaya Pochta" oval datestamp, sent via the state post office, where Imperial 7k blue was tied by "Borovichi Novgor" cds, repeated alongside; arriving in Tikhvin, with December (day unclear) cds on back, transferred to Zemstvo Head Post Office, where local 5k (Chuchin 27, Schmidt 20) was added and tied by undated violet Tikhvin Zemstvo Administration postmark, wax seal alongside. There is overall toning and some paper discolorations, small cover tear, signed Zumstein. This is one of two inter-district covers known from Borovichi to Tikhvin.
