| Lot #919 ITALY Air Post 1934 Rome-Buenos Aires overprints, cplt set used with additional franking on two covers (25.1) v.f. and two picture postcards to Buenos, those with traces of fire-damage and boxed "Transported by Courtesy Pan-American Airways System Fortaleza-Buenos Aires" cachets, others fine-v.f., signed Sorani (The Rome-Buenos Aires mail flight, Francesco Lombardi, Branco Mazzotti and three others were attempting an experimental mail-carrying flight from Rome to Buenos Aires in three days, crashed on a beach twelve miles south of Fort Aleza, Brazil, after having made a fine Atlantic crossing in fourteen hours. The plane was carrying 200 lbs of mail and copies
