United States Postmaster's Provisionals New York, NY
1845 FL originating in Mexico and addressed to Paris. It was carried inside another letter by a U.S. ship to New York, where it was forwarded by "Juan de la Granja", with 5c New York Postmaster Provisional added on October 22, 1845, tied by red "Paid", paying postage to Boston. There it was placed aboard the Cunard steamer "Hibernia" departing November 1st, via Halifax to Liverpool, arriving November 18th. Passing through London where the "Colonies and Art. 12" Anglo-French exchange mark was supplied, it arrived in France on November 21st, with 15 decimes charged to the recipient, fine and rare letter
