GERMAN COLONIES German South-West Africa Air Post
1914 picture postcard (Bruno Buchner's propeller airplane), carried on the first leg of the special flight for Windhoek Exhibition. During that exhibition, pilot Buchner made a mail-carrying flight from Swakopmund to Windhoek, by way of Usakos, Karibib and Okahamdja. This card has an excellent "Erster Flugpostversuch in D.S.W.A." cachet in violet, franked with 5pf adhesive, canc. 18.5.14, v.f., extremely rare, with 2003 Steuer cert.

1914 card carried on the second leg of the special flight for Windhoek Exhibition, franked with 5pf green, with 3-line violet cachet "Flugpost Usakos-Karibib 1.Flugzeug in Sudwest befodert", cancelled Usakos 19.5.14 and addressed to Berlin, fine and very rare card, only a few known to exist, especially addressed outside of SWA, signed Wittmann, with 1994 Czimek cert.
