1873 FL from Tampico, franked with 12c blue, tied by oval departure datestamp, sent via a British ship to Bordeaux. The triangular handstamp "GB 2F" which usually indicates at least partial transport by a U.S. ship, is overstruck by the "GB 1f60c" accountancy mark, used on mail transported entirely by British ship, with transit and arrival pmks, charged "24" (decimes) due, rare example of mail with dual accountancy markings

1874 FL from Veracruz, 2 February to Havana, franked with imperf. 12r Hidalgo, sent per "Corsica", arriving 7th February, with British agency "Paid at Vera-Cruz" crown circle handstamp (stated to be the second latest recorded usage), 4d payment indicated by red crayon, with 3 reales due in Cuba for internal delivery, overall ageing, fine. By the mid-1870s, the volume of mail out of the British agency at Tampico was down to between 1,000-2,000 pieces, while Veracruz handled even less. Because of this low volume, the Veracruz agency was closed in 1874 and Tampico in 1876.

This is the only recorded pre-UPU Mexican cover to Barbados and the latest recorded usage of the "Paid at Vera-Cruz" crown circle, with "8" (d) paid, appropriate transit and arrival pmks, fine, with appropriate transit and arrival pmks
